Previously, I noted the appointment of Lucy Powell as Shadow Education Secretary. There isn't much else to say. Schools Week has made the best of it. She's "passionate" about education, apparently, with kids in school. She's committed to "state education". Doesn't tell us a lot - who would not be, if you can work out what it means? There's a hint that she is not entirely persuaded of Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn's opposition to the "principles of free schools and academies".
The new Shadow Education Team so far:
Lucy Powell - Secretary of State for Education
Nic Dakin MP for Scunthorpe - shadow education minister - "a tireless campaigner for education"
Sharon Hodgson MP forWashington and Sunderland West - continues as Shadow Education Minister, now with a brief that includes SEN. She has long had an interest in special education as an MP.
Gordon Marsden MP for Blackpool South - returning to Education team - shadow skills Minister, with a brief across Dept of Education and Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
Lord Watson of Invergowrie (Michael Watts) - education spokesperson in House of Lords. Most famous for being expelled from Labour Party (readmitted 2012) on conviction and jailing for setting fire in a hotel.
