Congratulations to PACE Centre on winning DfE Voluntary & Community Sector grant

Congratulations to the PACE Centre in Aylesbury in winning funding from the DfE. "The project includes a combination of direct support for children and young people with sensory motor disorders - offering training/guidance for mainstream schools and making good links between mainstream and special settings". DfE grants to voluntary organisations "will be used to reform or deliver life-changing services over the next year". 94 projects will benefit from a share of £25m. What's happening at Botton Village concerns all who work as volunteers with disabled adults

Over on Facebook, my friend John Popham draws attention to an innovative Dutch scheme that allows students to live in nursing homes rent-free (as long as they keep the residents company). "The university students pay no rent and in exchange spend at least 30 hours a month with some of the 160 elderly who live here, doing the things professional staff cannot always do". Enjoyable visit to Nottingham yesterday - Rutland House, School for Parents

My great thanks to Carole Luckwell and everyone at Rutland House, School for Parents who made my visit there yesterday such an enjoyable one. You can't help but admire the drive, energy and commitment of parents, staff and everyone who has fought to keep open this conductive education centre which goes a long way back. Hope CEPEG 2015 10th Annual Conference and the Conductive Education Awareness Week that begins tomorrow in Liverpool are a huge and enjoyable success for everyone.
