The Government is proposing to remove the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance from adults and children living in state-funded residential care.
Today's Guardian reports the publication (download free) by a group of charities of "Don't Limit Mobility" an assessment of the impact of the proposal.
"We believe that the government has made a mistake and has misunderstood how people use this important benefit. Without this vital lifeline, people in care will lose their independence, be unable to take part in activities that they enjoy and be cut off from their friends and family."
